Germany. ILA-2000

Germany. ILA-2000

There are two largest and very representative air shows held in Germany - the international show of the general-purpose aircraft AERO that is spent one time in two years in the south of Germany in the city of Fridrichschafen and, also taking place one time in two years the international space exhibition ILA (International Aerospace Exhibition) in Berlin.
After successful participation of three our aeroclub' Yak-18T planes on AERO-99 in the last year, there was a desire to visit ILA-2000 next year.

Three our club' Yak-18T planes №01005, №02015 and №02016 participated in air flight on ILA-2000, organized by aeroclub "Aist-M".

Flight participants:

Markalov V.A., Markalov A.A., Alafinov S.V., Darbinyan V.A., Imerlishvili E.A., Beletskij I.P., Keosayan D.E., Kulagin A.A., Barakling H.J.

The schedule of flight:

6.06.00-7.06.2000 Moscow (Myachkovo)-Vitebsk-Vilnus-Gdansk-Strausberg
7.06.2000-12.06.2000 Participation in exhibition ILA-2000
12.06.00-13.06.2000 Strausberg-Gdansk -Vilnus-Витебск-Moscow (Myachkovo)

The sixth under the account since 1992 exhibition ILA-2000 became the largest in its 91-years history - about 900 firms from 38 countries of the world participated there, about 300 planes and helicopters were presented. Such countries, as Southern Africa, Ireland, Uzbekistan and Brazil presented their exhibits for the first time.

The American F-117 stealth became the showstopper. There was a crowd of visitors standing around it, which curiosity was cooled by the marines armed to teeth and tables with an inscription: " The weapon application is authorized". Reporters pressed the pilot who told everyone about his negative attitude to war, that, however, has not prevented him from actively bombing Yugoslavia. The brave American pilot, doing the stone face refused to speak about the brought down F-117 and its fragments ostensibly transferred then in Moscow for studying.

Certainly, on ILA 2000 there were represented not only jet planes, but turboprops and reciprocating business and private planes and helicopters as well.

On July 7 on exhibition new easy plane AQUILA 210 was demonstrated, which was represented only by computer model one year ago at exhibition AERO ' 99 in the German city of Fridrichschafen.

Among many easy plane models on ILA-2000 the remarkable double motor-glider HK 36 Super Dimona produced by Dimond Aircraft Industries GmbH Austria at once involved our attention. This model was subsequently bought and now is successfully maintained in our aeroclub. This motor-glider with a wing of the big lengthening combines high-speed qualities of the plane with an opportunity to switch the engine off in flight and soar freely. There are in total 150 gliders of this type in Germany. Various combinations of a power plant, the chassis and other units and the systems, adequate to the highest requirements are possible. This glider is considered to be one of the most safe in its class all over the world. This motor-glider is considered to be one of the most safe in its class all over the world. This quality and high flying characteristics made this motor-glider popular with flying schools - for initial training, and with German and Austrian free flight fans.

In general we, as well as the other visitors of exhibition ILA-2000, could see many interesting new planes, including AQUILA 210, SR-20 planes by Cirrus Design and OMF-160 by Ostmecklenburgischer Flugzeugbau. And, certainly, planes of such known firms as Dimond Aircraft, Piper, Robin, Stemme and Zlin.
